The Turkish Medicines and Medical Devices Agency (TİTCK), through its Vice Presidency for Inspection Services, published the results of cosmetic market surveillance and inspection activities carried out during the second quarter of 2026 (April–June 2026)

According to the announcement, inspections conducted by the Cosmetics Inspection Department identified a number of products that were either non-compliant with applicable technical regulations or posed potential risks to consumer safety. Consequently, administrative enforcement measures were imposed on the responsible economic operators.

During the reporting period, a total of 95 cosmetic products were inspected. Among these, 50 products were found to be non-compliant, including 4 products classified as risky products and 46 products found to be non-compliant with technical requirements

TİTCK stated that various enforcement actions were implemented for the non-compliant products, including administrative fines, corrective actions, market withdrawal measures, and destruction procedures. The total amount of administrative fines imposed due to non-compliance reached TRY 11,754,478

The announcement also highlighted enforcement activities targeting counterfeit and smuggled cosmetic products. A total of 83,755 counterfeit or illegally traded perfumes, identified through notifications from courts, prosecutors, law enforcement authorities, and other public institutions, were classified as unsafe or risky products under Cosmetics Law No. 5324

As the manufacturers of these products could not be identified, TİTCK decided that the products should be destroyed. The measure demonstrates the Agency’s continued efforts to combat non-compliant and illicit cosmetic products within the Turkish market.

The published list of risky cosmetic products underscores the ongoing focus of Turkish authorities on product safety, regulatory compliance, and the prevention of illegal cosmetic trade.
