On 10 July 2026, the Turkish Medicines and Medical Devices Agency (TİTCK), through its Vice Presidency for Inspection Services, published the results of market surveillance and inspection activities conducted during the second quarter of 2026 (April–June 2026) for Type-1 and Type-19 biocidal products.
The inspections, carried out by the Cosmetics Inspection Department, focused on Type-1 (Human Hygiene Products) and Type-19 (Repellents and Attractants) biocidal compliant products that were identified during the inspection period, leading to administrative enforcement actions.
According to the published data, inspections were completed for a total of 31 Type-1 and Type-19 biocidal products. Among these, 11 products were found to be non-compliant, including 8 products classified as risky products.
TİTCK reported that several enforcement measures were imposed on the non-compliant products, including administrative fines, market withdrawal measures, and destruction procedures. The total amount of administrative fines imposed due to non-compliance reached TRY 3,345,649.
The findings highlight the Agency’s continued focus on ensuring the safety and regulatory compliance of biocidal products that come into direct contact with consumers. TİTCK also published information regarding the identified risky products and confirmed that the relevant administrative procedures have been implemented.
The inspection results demonstrate the ongoing efforts of Turkish authorities to strengthen market surveillance activities and to take enforcement action against non-compliant biocidal products placed on the market.
